Question
HI, I'm looking for advice on areas to live in.  Me & my family are thinking of moving to australia.  My wife is a hairdresser and we own our own business.  We are thinking of moving to an area, relatively busy ( not city life ) were can open a salon.  The area needs to be ok for schools, entertainment etc for our children age 12 & 7.  We don't like snakes but would ideally like a location near to beach.  Could you think of an locations are give us an ideas.

Thank you very much for your help

Answer
G'day Anthony,
There are a few places I could think of, but I am not sure if they would be totally suitable.

Brisbane is at least 50 km from the nearest beach, so I am not sure if you want to live that far away from a main city. If you want the beach, I would recommend the Sunshine Coast, in particular, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Alexander Headlands, Caloundra, and Coolum. They are all good for schools, and you may be able to purchase an existing salon there. An area close to Brisbane called Redcliffe, is a beach area, but they are not the brilliant white beaches of the Sunshine coast. They do have a lot of schools to choose from though. I hope this helps. Conatct me again if you require more assistance.

Regards,
Frank

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
