Question
Hi, We are off to Oz in a week or so after a very late booking flight. We have done hardly any research and dont know where the best places to go are. We are starting in Perth and would like to see as much of Australia as possible. We are intending to be away for 3 months but have a very tight budget. We have a few places in mind but cant find anywhere that has enough infomation for what we want to do. We are planning to go to monkey mia in perth first, also australia zoo, great barrier reef and kangaroo island this is all we have so far.We are interested in most things so any ideas and some kind of route that we could follow would be an excellent help. Thank you.

Amelia:
Starting in Perth you should go east and take the train to Alice Springs and Ayers Rock and then back down to Kangaroo Island  and visit the Great Ocean Road,on the way to Melbourne, visit Phillip Island, take a ferry to Tasmania, visit Cradle Mountain and Hobart and Port Arthur, then up to Canberra then on to Sydney and the Blue Mountains.  From there you would go to Brisbane and Surfers Paradise and Steve Irwins zoo.  From there on to Cairns and he Great Barrier Reef and Daintree.  Monkey Mia is quite a ways from Perth so if you go there you might want to go around the top end and Darwin and on down the east coast.
There is a bus line called Oz Express that does a lot of this route, you can get contact information at any YHA.
