Question
Me and my friend are planning to travel from Cairns to Sydney and we don't really know what is our best option.
We are thinking of buying a vehicle and driving, also maybe the Oz Experience but we've heard it's not as good as it used to be.  Also what is the most inexpensive way ? Thanks.

Answer
The most inexpensive way is hitch-hiking.

Car travel leaves freedom to stop and look.

I always fly where possible and hire cars at the other end.

Train travel is also a good way.  let someone else take the strain and it's cheaper than flying.

Never cared to try the Oz Eperience.

I spent a month in Oz travelling around the Northern Territory by car and coach (Kakadu, Alice Springs, Yulara, Uluru), South Australia (by car) and Kangaroo Island (by minibus), returning via Bali where I stayed for a week exploring. I made friends with people from all-over Oz when I was judging great danes there and can always give them a call if there are any questions I can`t answer.
