Question
My wife and I both in our 60's are planning a trip to Australia in October. We will arrive in Cairns on 12th Oct. and intend staying in Post Douglas for 3  to 4 days and the driving to Brisbane to catch a flight to Cambera on 26th Oct. What would you recommend we see and do on our journey to Brisbane?

Answer
Graham:
You will probably want to visit the Whitsunday Islands.  You could go river rafting on the Tully River, a day in Townsville at the Museum of Tropical Queensland, the Rum Factory out of Bundaberg and possibley a flight to Lady Eliott Island if you snorkel or dive.  Spend a night on Fraser Island.   Surfers Paradise and the wildlife park near there.  There is a lot to do in and around Brisbane.  You could visit Steve Irwins wildlife park, the Queensland CulturalCenter, Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, take a river cruise to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctury and an afternoon at the downtown casino.
