ANSWER: G'day Paddy,
If you are after the pure white beaches you may have seen advertised, you will have to move at least 60 km's from Brisbane, to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.
I would recommend the Sunshine Coast, in particular, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Alexander Headlands, Caloundra, and Coolum. They are all good for schools, and and there is plenty for the kids to do. An area close to Brisbane called Redcliffe Peninsuila, is a beach area, but they are not the brilliant white beaches of the Sunshine coast. They do have a lot of schools to choose from though. Redcliffe is about 30 km's from Brisbane. Suburbs that I would recommend are Clontarf, Kippa Ring, Suttons Beach, Redcliffe, Scarborough and Margate.
I am sure you will have no problem getting work.
I hope this helps. Conatct me again if you require more assistance.
Regards, Frank

QUESTION: hey frank
thanks a million for your suggestions. the sunshine coast looks great. in particular caloundra. looks like it has plenty to offer and everything we need. we would never have come across it only for you so thanks again.
ps any more info on it would be much appreciated

AnswerG'day Paddy,
Caloundra is about an hour along the freeway from Brisbane. It is the first of the big city areas you come to from Brisbane. It is only about 5 minutes off the freeway to Caloundra. It has plenty of schools and shopping centres and has a racetrack there as well which races every Sunday. There are plenty of beaches from full surf to very calm beaches suitable for the kids. Caloundra is also fantastic for fishing and water sports.
You are also less than an hour from Noosa and the rest of the Sunshine coast and hinterland.
You will love Caloundra, it has everything people require to enjoy life.

Frank
