Question
hi my fiance and i are planing on moving to australiafrom Indiana USA in a couple of years i have researched and found brisbane to be very desirable. i would like to have 5 to 10 acres of land so obviously i would have to live a little ways away.i was wondering if you could help me in choosing a nice place not to far from brisbane but still a rural area. also if it would be cheaper to build on land than buy a home.Is contracting diffucult or expensive to buy? what would you suggest thanks alot kody

Answer
G'day Kody,
If you do decide to come to Brisbane, you will love it.  To buy 5 to 10 acres of land you would have to move at least 35 miles out of Brisbane. That isnt a real problem, as convenient and regular (every 30 mins) transport services operate to at least 50 miles from Brisbane. The locations of Narangba, Burpengary, Morayfield, Caboolture, Elimbah, Glass House Mountains and Beerburrum would all suit your needs. It is cheaper to build, and that way you can add your own personal touches.  The cost is getting expensive now, and I would expect to pay from $400,000 upwards for house and land. Land seperatley would start at $245,000 depending on location. It is a very easy contract process, with safety steps involved to protect the buyer.

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
