QuestionQUESTION: We are going for a weekend trip in late october as i have been offered an employment opportunity.
i am married and a young son 2 yr old. my wife and i are in our mid 30s. Do you have any suggested suburbs to try to rent in before making a commitment we would be able to pay approx aud 300 -350 per week - the requirements would be near good public schools and infrastructure, where there are young families ?
i would welcome any suggestions so i can research
ANSWER: G'day Seb
The Sunshine Coast is a great spot, and I am sure you will love it.
The best place to get an idea of rent prices is to use the web site
http://www.realestate.com.au/ Click on Queensland and Click on Rent, and do a search. Caloundra, Golden Beach, Moffat Beach, Shelly Beach, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland, are all suburbs that are good, and would have your price range.

thanks for your answer late last year, we moved to parrearra and it has worked out really well for both my wife and son and i.
we now have to relocate to brisbane with work - it is located in auchenflower, we would like something with the family friendly feel, i was thinking redcliffe near the water, i would like an affordable area where the homes are about $350K or less, we will rent first with the view of buying. any suggestions which family friendly surburbs?
i think something 30-45mins from work would be ok
thanks again
AnswerHi Seb,
Redcliife and the surrounding areas are good suburbs. Your drive to Auchenflower will take at least 50 minutes, and more like an hour with the way traffic is at the moment.
The other suburbs I would recommend if you want to live near Redcliffe are Suttons Beach, Margate, Woody Point, Scarborough, Kippa Ring.

Frank
