Question
I like the look of Queensland, We are thinking about moving from Yorkshire. What in your view would be a good area to live in around Brisbane, we would like a couple of acres,a pool have good amenities, primary school ect. not too far away from the city center for work but not in a built up area. All for about $500.000 or less.

Answer
G'day Ian,
The type of land / house you require would be available for $500,000 or less. Obviously the closer you get to the city, the more expensive it is. The suburbs I am thinking of (Burpengary / Morayfield) are about 45 to 50 mins from the city (about 40 - 45 km's), and have every possible amenities, schools you could ask for. Queensland has the highest amount of people moving to it than any other state in Australia. I love Quensland, and although the summers get hot and sticky at times, it is with out doubt, the best state in Australia to live. I have friends and relatives in other states, and have visited there, and while those states are good, I still prefer Queensland. If the heat became a problem, your house could be air conditioned for around $6,000 (depending on size). My friend has just purchased land, built his own home, and a pool, for about $430,000.  If you wanted to find houses on the net, and require an inspection before comitting, I would be happy to inspect and offer my opinion.
If you have any other questions or need advice about any area you are looking at, feel free to email me direct at franksue@bigpond.net.au  Good luck.
Regards,
Frank

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
