Question
Hello, I am familiar with ACD as we have always had them. I prefer the Red. No real reason. I am not saying they are better.I just like Red.  Have you ever seen a "purple" or brown color in this breed, What would cause this? I have not seen any photos on the web, can you tell me anything re: this subject? Thanks, Kim

Answer
Hi Kim, Sometimes we refer to red dogs with blue in their coats as "purple". It is an incorrect color....and is considered a major fault. Oftentimes these dogs also have brown noses, rather than black. Not sure what causes it...maybe just bad luck when breeding. Wendy

Expertise

I will answer any general or specific questions regarding Australian Cattle Dogs(conformation, behavior, showing in either obedience or conformation). I cannot give any comments or recommendations re:AKC judges,as that would be considered a conflict of interest.

Experience

I have owned, bred and shown ACDs for the past 13 years, and I am a licensed conformation judge (AKC) for the breed. I have owned and operated an all breed training center for the past 22 years.
