Question I have not used my passport in 20 years do I have to renew it? What is the cost to stay there for about two weeks (very basic living). If someone decides to live there what is the procedure and the criteria for acceptance? Thanks
Answer Your passport should have an expiration date on it.
If you stay in very cheap hostels and eat only the most basic foods, you could probably live for two weeks on 600 euros (keep exchange rates in mind because 600 euros equals about 780 U.S. dollars) - but that is only if you don't want to use public transportation, you don't want to travel outside of the city and you don't want to pay for any of the attractions like museums or concerts. If you are happy walking around the city and enjoying the atmosphere, then you could probably do it on 600 or so. If you want to splurge, eat a couple nicer meals, pay for attractions, you'll obviously be paying more.
I do not know what the process is for people who want to move there on a permanent or semi-permanent basis. You'll probably need some kind of work-school-living there visa and I don't know how that works.
