Answer
Hi David,

I will try to answer your question, although I am not too familiar with Tirol's towns. Tirol is a number one tourist location in Austria, so in many towns everything is about tourism (nice but expensive), and i have no in-dept knowledge about where to stay, where to eat, etc.

Innsbruck: The capital of Tirol is the biggest town in Tirol, still small by international standards (~120.000 inhabitants), some museums and architecture to see there.

Aachensee lake: This beautiful lake in the north of Tirol is surrounded by mountains, you can do lots of outdoor-stuff like hiking and mountainbiking.

Kufstein: Kufstein has a town-center from the dark-ages, and some nice smaller villages in the vicinity.

Wörgl: Wörgl and the villages around Wörgl are nice, but cater mostly to outdoor-hiking-tourists.

Kitzbühel: Kitzbühel and the nearby Kirchberg are very nice towns, best known for their skiressort. Kitzbühel is where the high-society meets.

St. Anton: Another little town with big skiressort, another high-society meetingplace :)

Hall: The Hall-region offers various little towns and villages, and some old churches and castles.

My advice: Go to the Aachensee lake, visit Kitzbühel and the Hall-region. If you want some more cultural activities visit Innsbruck as well. You may want to visit the town of Salzburg (northeast of Tirol) for more culture.

I hope that I could help a little, please feel free to ask any additional questions.

Mario.
