I will be studying in Southern Switzerland this June and was hoping to take at least one four-day weekend trip to Austria.  Where would you recommend?  Specifically, I am interested in Salzburg, Innsbruk and Vienna.  Thank you

Hello Anna,

Even though Vienna is one of my favorite cities, I would suggest visiting Salzburg for your 4 day weekend.  Considering your travel time to and from Austria and the amount of things to see and do in a city Salzburg seems like the logical choice since you can get a real "feel" for the city in about three days there.  Vienna has so much to offer that even a week there would leave you feeling like you've barely scratched the surface.  I have never been to Innsbruck but have heard that there isn't much cultural things to see there but beautiful scenery.  If you plan on doing some outdoor things like hiking, then you might consider this city, otherwise I'd go to Salzburg.
