Question My boyfriend and I will be spending this Christmas in Vienna any reccommendations of what can do to make it special and romantic??
Also we will be going to Salzburg for a day any suggestions?
Answer The Christmas markets are awesome so you should definitely do that. There are also carriage rides that I think begin in front of the Hofburg. Snuggle up and enjoy a ride around the city. There are plenty of small cozy places to enjoy a quiet dinner together - fancy and not-so-fancy. Christmas in Vienna is fantastic.
In Salzburg, you could just walk around, because it is a small city, or you could take the Sound of Music tour. It is a bus tour that takes you to all the movie locations, but that isn't the cool part. While you are drive around, the bus will take you way up in the Alps, through tiny mountain towns that you would never have seen otherwise. The tour guide we had didn't mind stopping so we could explore the tiny towns and go into interesting shops. It was gorgeous up in the snow covered mountains.
