Question Hello Sandra!
I´m from Portugal and I will be in Graz from 11 to 13 December 2000, because my husband will be in a Conference there and I´m going with him.
Since I will be by my self those days, I´ve been looking for things to do and places to visit but the net information is not very detailed.
I wonder if you could suggest me things to do and places to visit there or near by.

there are many things to do in Graz!
You should know that this will be an extremely cold time of year to visit Austria.
First of all I would suggest that you see the " Jakominiplatz " downtown. This is basically a good starting point dor catching the old-fashioned streetcars in all directions.
I would take a stroll down " Herrengasse" with its exquisite shops and wonderful historic buildings.
Near the HAUPTPLATZ you can find " Kastner and Oehler"- this is a great department store and I am sure you can find many things you need for your trip or gifts there.
Other places I would suggest is Armory Museum,located on "Herrengasse" or,if you like ice-skating, go to the "Hilmteich" , a nice small lake in beautiful setting.
If it does get too cold for you,you can always go to one of the many indoor swimming pools !
