Question
My 27 month old toddler flaps his hand when excited or happy. He has been doing so for a long time. There are no other delays or signs. everything else is fine. and he does not do it all the time, only some times. Can you please help me.

Answer
Vimmi,
Many kids flap their hands when excited or happy. This one activity does not mean a child is autistic. You should talk this over with your son's doctor. There are many other signs of autism such as not making eye contact, not responding to their name being called out, and so on. It can be a challenge making a diagnosis. Talking about this with his doctor should help you.
I wish you and your son the best,
