Question
I'm 19 years old and diagnosed as high functioning autistic.
I'm asking for advice about an issue I have with taking medication, such as antibiotics. I tend to take it regularly as long as I still have symptoms, but as soon as I'm better, I start forgetting to take my medication. It's not that I don't know the importance of taking it as I've been told, but that I just can't remember to take it if I don't have the symptoms to remind me. Any advice?

Thank your for your important and relevant question.

It is common for those on the Autism spectrum to have difficulties with organization and sticking with things to the end.

There are pill boxes where you can have the medication in boxes designated with the days until it is used up. Inquire with a pharmacist about these boxes and the visual aid might be enough to help you stay on track and organized.

If this does not work write me back and I will seek other solutions for you.
