Question
My son is five years old he gose to Meyer Elementary. He was suspended from school because he cant control his temper and acts out physically. The first time he was suspended for three days then just the other day they suspended him for one day . This school is a public school. B because of his condition I question is are they allowed to do so if his education is the most important thing?

Answer
Good morning.  Is your son on an IEP?  If so, they can suspend for up to 10 school days; however, you should request a functional behavioral assessment with a sensory profile.  This information can help to develop a positive behavioral support plan to help lessen his acting out behaviors and with social skills training, can help to develop prosocial behaviors.  Let me know if I can help in any other way.  -Michelle
