Autism/Follow up from earlier question

Question
I had to ask a new question - the system told me too many follow ups.  Anyway, based on the information you provided, basically when she is in her swing in the backyard if my husband is pushing behind her and will say "i'm going to get you" and basically sneaks behind her and tickles or "gets" her - she will squeal in delight but will on occassion cover her ears.  I'm worried this would be one of those "unexpected sounds".  Other than that, she does fine in noisy locations - she doesn't love the vacuum or hair dryer but I can certainly hold her while vacuuming and she doesn't get upset or anything.  What do you think?

Thanks again!!
Heather

Answer
Hi Heather;

She sounds fine. I don't see anything related to autism here. Keep an eye on her and see if you can find any patterns for her covering her ears. It's possible she associated covering her ears with being excited and it has become part of her behavioral repertoire.

Kind regards,
Jim
