I have such a child in my classroom that does all those vile acts.  Do I deserve to be beaten?  Suspending an autistic child is a starting point to get the help from many resources.  It is an eye opener for parents.  We teach, we do not need to be abused.  You are the parent, 24/7.  If you have to take a day off to be with him, do it?  That is your job. PARENT.

What have you done to stop this violent behaviour so far in his life?  Did you follow through with tough love?  Be consistent?  Do not allow yourself one more day to be a victim of this violent behaviour.  Listen to the school board and get your child and yourself help.  The school staff know your child more than you might think.

If your child should go to another class/school, sign the papers and move forward. You have the rest of your life being a parent.  Get on board.  Get the help he needs.

We do parent.  We struggle with the same issues at home, probably worse!  Autism is a condition which can cause angry outbursts.  This is NOT a parenting issue.  It's a medical condition.  Try to have some patients and try to understand that parents of autistic children are ostracized by teachers, ministers, strangers on the street for our "misbehaving" children.  We're already struggling.  Thank you for your understanding, compassion, and professionalism (not).

I have been an education advocate representing students and parents for six years. I have also represented clients to County Mental Health Departments and Regional Centers. My clients range from pre-school to college students in California and various other states.

Education/Credentials
I have a degree in Mathematics from the University of California with minors in Psychology and Physics. I also studied applied statistics in the field of psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate level. I have taught college classes, conducted seminars, written articles for various publications, and testified as an expert witness.
