Question
hi we have custody of our 22 month old grandson, he can't hardly speak and hes always beating his head on the floor, doors, chairs, with his hands , he used 2 bite himself  now he chews his hands or sucks on them, how can i tell if he has autism or not ?

Answer
Hi,

You've given me very little information to go on regarding your grandson.  I suggest you read this article called "How do you know if your child has autism?"  You can find it at http://www.nlconcepts.com/autism-howdoyouknow.htm
I think this will help you.

Whether your grandson is on the spectrum or not, it definitely does sound like he has some concerning behaviors.  I suggest you get an evaluation through Early Intervention as soon as possible.  There is no charge and if your grandson requires services, there is also no fee and he will get the help he needs.

I wish you great success.
