Question
hi my name is summer i have a son who is 2 yrs and 4 months old he has been diagnosed with sid but i also have a strong feeling he is on the Autism spectrum he walks on his toes he hates for his routine to be messed with and he has to brush his teeth at least 4 times a day and loves to talk about dinosaurs...i really really appreciate any comments you have on this..

Answer
You may be right that he is on the Spectrum. He sounds like he has a lot of language, so he may fall into the Asperger Syndrome category. I would recommend that you consult with an Occupational Therapist who can work with him on some of the sensory issues that you are seeing like the brushing teeth and and need for routine. When he is a little older, you can consult with a speech pathologist regarding his obsession with discussing dinosaurs as he may need a little help conversing on other topics.
