My son sounds a lot like yours. Doesn't quite fit perfectly into the mold of autism because he makes eye contact and socializes, but does the lining things up too. He hits himself when he's mad, easily frustrated, likes to play alone although he will play with others but then returns to his own play. I'm going through evaluations right now to get him placed. Sometimes though I feel as though they ask me questions and because I say yes they're gonna miss something. Like they ask me does me know who mom and dad are? Yes, but if we ask him to kiss one or the other he can't decipher who is who. I feel like a lot of their questions are like that.
