I have the exact same problem as Jen. Except instead of pacing back and forth or walking, I hold my hands together all night. It is so embarrassing. I used to do it in public when I was small. But when I got old enough to realize what I was doing, then I was able to resort it to my bedroom or bathroom. I have a problem with laughing in repetitive forms too. It has caused me not to have many friends and it is hard to go to church or meetings at work. I have a hearing loss, so I always wondered if it was related to extreme boredom from not being able to socialize with people when I was little, and it just stuck with me. It has gotten better as I age. I had to take ritalin too, but I stopped bc it was making me more anxious and it would make my heart race.

I get real anxious and start laughing. I daydream during extreme moments of happiness. It was hard to study. When I was little I had to jump on different spot on the floor when someone came in the room.

Hi,

I actually have the exact same thing. I would pace for hours in my room, back and forthh repeatedly while listening to music. I ended up going to therapy and being diagnosed with Maladaptive Daydreaming. Its a condition in which an individual daydreams or fantasizes to a higher degree. Its very new, and was just introduced in 2009. There's a wiki page too, here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maladaptive_daydreaming
