Question
my 1yr old girl had shown signs of abnormality (or autism) since she born. now i have taken her to special doctors and they say she is 25% Cerebal Palsy (damaged brain). they advised me to do stem cell therapy. is it good treatment for my girl, is she too young for this therapy. if i have to take her for stem cell therapy then where should i? i am in New Zealand.

Answer
Hi,

I know this must be such a scary time for you.  It's so hard when we fear our children are not developing typically.  I wish I could be of more help to you but my expertise is in autism and behavior management.  12 months is a little too young to be screening for autism.  Eighteen months is typically the earliest you can detect if a child is on the autism spectrum.  I can't advise you effectively on stem cell therapy and I think you should seek a second professional opinion, and even a third when making such a big decision.
I wish you great luck and success, and good health to your child and your family.
