Question
my son has recently been diagnosed with ASD, he is very loving, cuddles and kisses on a regular basis, he is helpful, he can wash himself, dress himself and also is potty trained without any trouble. I thought that he might have Aspergers  syndrome, i know that he doesn't talk much however he is bilingual learning English and Arabic, can children with Aspergers syndrome be late talking if they are bilingual or does it not make a difference

Answer
It takes a very knowledgeable medical doctor familiar with Aspergers to make a diagnosis. It is not a do-it-yourself kind of diagnosis. There is no answer to whether a person has Aspergers or Autism since Aspergers is on the Autism spectrum. I suggest you take him to an expert in diagnosing Aspergers and Autism in order to determine if he is on the Autism spectrum. Sometimes it is difficult to diagnose Autism spectrum disorders until the child is at least two years old.

I wish you and your son the best,
