Hi jene,

My son is now 3years 5 month old & we have main problem with him that he speaks less,like he said only mom,dad,uncle etc.

If we ask him to repeat our words he repets but he never said from his own.

If he want something he said mom & after that he used his own language which is not able to understand by us or he will cry to get that thing.

He just play with toys for 5-10 minutes & then throw away. he doesn't consternated in any thing. He only like to watch TV or ride cycle.

If we take him in child group, he always want to get separated with them very quickly.

He always want that his father should be with me. If I am with him he never go to any one. But if am not available he can adjust with any one.

Please help us for his this behavior & less speaking.

Hi,

I can hear that you are worried.  I'm not exactly sure how your system works in India but I think it's important that your son gets evaluated by a professional.

Can you ask your pediatrician for a referral?  Your son should see someone that specializes in childhood disorders such as autism, adhd, speech delays etc.

It sounds like your son would definitely qualify for some services.  You'll be amazed how much difference some therapy can make. Your child already has language - even if it's not a lot.  But a good speech therapist would be able to teach him to use his words as well as gain more language.

Some play therapy would be good too.  This way he'd learn to focus more on his toys when he has some structure and teaching on how to play constructively.

It's impossible to diagnose over the Internet but I do think that your little guy needs some help.  The good news is that you'll be amazed how quickly your son will progress with some therapy. I wish I could give you all the tools over the Internet but your son will benefit best from somebody being with him and teaching him one on one.  A professional will also be able to show you the ropes so that you can follow through easily.

Just remember that the beginning is always the hardest.  You will get through this and so will your son.  I wish you and your family great success.
