hello Valerie
my name is Deniece i am a speech & Language therapist trained in the united kingdom. i have recently returned home to Jamaica to set up private practice. in the Caribbean there is a great need for SLPs and unfortunately in Jamaica we only have 5 and they are all in the city. i have gotten involved with autism though it was not my area of specialty in London, but it is a great need here. i am in the process of helping a family develop a tool to organize their child's many programmes and progress. we dont have a joint centre here so coordinating a service is a challenge. so we are trying to develop something to help parents coordinate services and get ideas for activities to achieve certain goals/behaviours.
would you be willing to offer your expertise in this project. i travel to Florida often and would be willing to come to your centre as an observation and learning experience if that would be convenient.

Meanwhile, I would be very happy to consult with you and the family that you mention. Perhaps a joint phone consult to get started would be in order. Also, is there a group or parent organization who would like to organize? If so, I could do a web conference that can be broadcast to as many people as we can pull together.

With technology the way it is today, there are many ways to get information. Let me know how you would like to proceed.
