Autism/1 year old and pointing

Question
Hi,
My daughter is a year old and I'm not too concerned that she has autism because she is interactive, responsive, and has great receptive language. The only concern I have it something I read, that when a 1 year old points, she should look at you to make sure you are looking at the object too. She doesn't really do this. She points at everything, and looks to where I point. She will look at a toy, look at me, then back at the toy all the time, so I don't think she is too lacking joint attention. Should I be concerned that she doesn't usually look to make sure I see what she is seeing?
Thank you!

Answer
Hi,

I would not be concerned at all.  Not even slightly.  She is interactive, responsive and ha great receptive language.  And she is pointing at everything!  Not only that, she looks at what you're pointing at.  She has amazing joint attention.  And just in case I didn't make it clear enough, I absolutely would not be concerned that she doesn't look at you to make sure you're seeing what she's pointing at :-)

I think you have NO cause for concern.
Very best to you.
