Question
my child is 1 year and 9 months old. He does not respond to his own name when being called. Otherwise he is quite attentive.
Please can you tell me what are the early signs of autisim and how what observations should i make  about my child to know this.

Answer
Hi Pooja,

Your best bet is to do the MCHAT.  Please go to this link to find it.  After you do the test and click "Should I be concerned?" it will tell you which questions were the most important.  But don't peek.  Do the test first so you can get an accurate picture of your child http://www.nlconcepts.com/autism-mchat.htm

The second thing I'd like you to do is download this article called "How do you know if your child has autism?"  This will explain exactly what you're likely to see with examples, and no technical language.  The article explains things really clearly and I think it will help you. http://www.nlconcepts.com/autism-howdoyouknow.htm

I hope you will find this helpful.
