Question
Hi Valerie.. my son is 17 almost 18 years old.. he has a very mild form of Autism.. my question is.. what kind of jobs would be good for someone with Aspergers?? He really wants to go into the military or some form of law enforcement.. and I am not sure what to do or where to turn.. any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Jamie

There are lots of people in the military that appear to have some characteristics of autism, but I don't know if they have a true diagnosis. You'll have to check to see if they allow people with Asperger's to join. The military seems to appeal to these people because it feeds into their need for structure and routine. So that would be a good choice for him.

Good luck and let me know how it goes
