Question
I would like to give you an update! I sent you a question about 2 weeks ago!

These are the links to my 2 previous questions sent to you:

1. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Autism-1010/2011/1/Babble-1.htm
2. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Autism-1010/2011/1/Babble.htm

I can now tell you that my son IS babbling away! He babbles ALL DAY now! He started perhaps 4 days ago to really babble up a storm. He babbles long chains of bababa, papa, mama, tata, buba, bube.. and he babbles alot! Really talking to us with his babble.

He seems to understand that he gets my full attention when he says mama because he does it alot..

So the babbling has really kicked in now! At 10,5 months.

I am waiting for the waving, clapping and pointing to begin, though he has pointed with index finger towards the lamp a few times. And he puts his arm up every now and then and I'm not sure if he's trying to wave.

I have read that clapping and waving happens between 10-14 months, and somewhere else I read 9-13 months.

Answer

Hi March
Great!! Good news. It's too hard to be that specific about the clapping and waving. And even the pointing. Some kids never do it. Right now, it sounds like he is right on track. Let's look for first real words around 12-14 months. Thanks for the update and keep me posted
