Autism/transportation from school district to aba therapy

Question
Hi, I have a child soon to be 3 in the state of PA, he will not be attending early intervention anylonger and is enrolled in an ABA therapy school and is doing well. I am the only parent driving their child, I am told it is our school districts responsibility to provide transportation. I contacted them as the school is in another district , and they gave me a run around with now answers. The aba therapy school said they were not suprised at this as the other parents usually give up after 1 year of pursuit. I am sending a registered letter to the school district director in hopes to get clarity and not have a 1 year run around, any suggestions?

Answer
Kim,

Based on your question, I assume that your child has an IEP that calls for him to attend the ABA therapy school at school district expense. If so, the district has the obligation to provide transportation. You should call for an IEP Team meeting to get them to fulfill their legal obligation.

I wish you and your son the best,
