Question
My son who is 31 months, maybe has 5-10 words IF that. He repeats one word A LOT and that is "ma".He did loose some words ( like his first word he ever said around 13-15 months) Has to have things his way or he has a melt down for awhile, and I have a hard time calming him down (sometimes).
But HE does UNDERSTAND everything you say to him. He is VERY loving.
Doesn't like to be touched all the time (only when he feels the need) Very picky eater. (wont eat food with a lot of texture). Has maybe slept threw the night 5 times in his life.. i use to have to lay down with  him to go to bed..(still do sometimes) He always come in my bed in the middle of the night.
He also seem disengaged at time with the world. Does not always respond when I say his name.
Thinks he is the funniest person ever.
We have to have his blanket where ever we go, or has major meltdowns.

But they say he interacts with the children at daycare. And plays with them.
jumps everywhere. very active.
He also developed fast..walked early.crawled early. everything was early..then kinda stopped.

Answer
Hi Lindsey;

I don't hear anything that sounds like an autism spectrum disorder. To be absolutely safe, please go to my website at: www.autismspectrumdisorderfoundation.org and take the M-CHAT and score it. If he fails the M-CHAT, them email me with the results and we can go from there.

Kind regards,
James
