hi my name is lindsey wood i was diagonsed with autism aka asperger syndrome about 6 1/2 yrs ago.  I went to college last yr im 19 i diden't work out too well because the teachers and the school diden't understand about asperger syndrome,autism.  anyways my question to you is this:  Are there any schools in the us that someone with autism,asperger syndrome will be successful at. thanks a bunch lindsey -longview tx

Hi Lindsey;

Good to hear from you. I, personally, am not sure I can help you. I suggest you find a forum(s) for folks with Asperger's and put the question out there. Also, Asperger's, since it is on the autism spectrum, is covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act Section 504. All schools have a Section 504 officer who can work with you to develop a Section 504 Accomodation Plan to assist you through school and avoid certain difficulties. I can help you do this when and if the time comes.
