Autism/new dx for Asperger's

Question
Hi James, I'm a repeat questioner. I have recently come across a diagnosis called Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome. This is supposedly very similar to Asperger's and PDD. Most kids getting this new diagnosis are first diagnosed with one of the other. Have you heard of it? From what I can find it is used in England. I don't know if any Dr.'s or Autism related sites have any info here in the U.S.? I appreciate any help or feedback. Thanks, Sue

Answer
Hi Sue;

I did a quick review on the subject and will read more. I am finding it difficult to see how is differentiated from Asperger's Syndrome in any meaningful way. I mean, the characteristics listed can be found among many individuals with AS or not. My immediate thinking is that it has little use in terms of designing intervention, etc.

Kind regards,
James
