QUESTION: The air control on my 2004 Chevy silverado is not responding. The serpentine belt was replaced and installed wrong and run for a short while, then reinstalled correctly. The air control did not work after that. it is stuck on the winshieled and wont turn to vent or floor.

ANSWER: Hi Matty

Try and reset your control.  You can disconnect your battery and reconnect this will reset you control head. Let me know if it works or not and we will go from there.

QUESTION: I disconnected the battery. It did not fix the problem.I have the basic system. Not the fancy climate control like in some trucks. Do you think it has something to do with the vacumn system? The serpentine belt was put on wrong and I was thinking it turned a vacumn pump backwards or something.. Or blew a vac hose off somewhere. Does that control run on vac? It sounds like it does when I would turn the contol..  Thanks..

Answer
If you have a diesel then you would have a pump, but otherwise it would come from the engine.  Check your vacuum hoses coming into the firewall see if you have any hoses disconnected.  You will find all the vacuum hoses to the ac ore on the passenger side engine compartment.
