Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair/condenser, compressor...now evaporator

Question
Hi:  One and a half months ago I had my condenser and compressor changed on a 2000 grand caravan.  It stopped cooling again and now the repair shop says its the evaporator leaking ($800 additional).  Is this a reasonable problem to overlook during the first evaluation and would labor have been any less if it was fixed at the same time the other repairs?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tracy

We cannot be sure if they miss diagnosed the problem.  But the evap. repairs expensive.  They must remove the dash board to get to the evaporator.  I would just ask them to help you with a better price since we cannot be sure that this was not the original problem.  Check with other shops and compare.
