Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair/2000 Mustang GT no air at highway speed

Question
My 2000 Mustang GT air works great around town and on the highway for short trips.  However, it seems to stop blowing cold air after being on the highway for more 20-30 minutes.  When the AC does this, I either turn it off or to "vent" only. After a few minutes, I can then turn the AC back on and it will be blowing cold air once again.  I thought it was the low pressure switch, but replaced it and the problem still exists.   Any ideas?

Answer
HI Mike

Remove the connector to the switch and see if your compressor stops.  If it does then you may an orifice tube that is clogging up.  If it does not turn off then inspect the wire at the connector for jump on them.  This last one is the most common cause.  Good luck and let me know what you find and if I can help you any further.
