HI  
QUESTION A NORMAL PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE RECEIVER DRYER MAKE A POSITIVE CONTACT ?  

AFTER THE 4TH STOP AND GO AROUND TOWN THE SWITHC STOP MAKING CONTACT COMPLETLY IT HAS A SMALL SCREW ADJUSTMENT BUT CAN I CONNECT A BY-PASS ON-OFF SWITCH HEAVY 12 GAUGE SOLDERED TO IT SO I CAN ACTIVATE IT WHEN IT GOES DEAD ON ME?

I THEN WOULD CYCLE THE CLUTCH MYSELF A KEEP THE R-12 FLOWING  BEING IN FLORIDA IT IS A NEEDED DEVICE

Hi Rick

Not sure which car you are speaking about.  If you do that you are disconnecting the cycling switch which not only turns your compressor on and off when it gets cold inside it is also a protection in case it looses all its refrigerant.  Check your relay it may be the cause of the problem.  You can jump the switch and see if it works well.  If it does replace the switch you will be good.  If it does not work after a while then your problem may be at the relay.
