Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair/ac

Question
I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2L automatic trans.   My ac blows cool, but not nearly as cold as it did two months ago.  I checked for leaks and don't have any.  My freon levels are within specs and so is the pressure on the low side only when the clutch is engaged.  when it disengages the level skyrockets to the red zone.  it will go down when the clutch engages and then go back up when it disengages.  what could this possibly be?

Answer
Hi Jon

If your compressor is turning on and off repeatedly then you are low in refrigerant.  If your system is cooling good then your compressor should not be turning off repeatedly.   Try and get me both high and low side pressures so that I can help you.
