Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair/Air Conditioner

Question
2001 Acura MDX Where do I find the accumulator, orifice tube and thermal expansion valve? After I have replaced these parts and the compressor flushed the system and added the correct amount of oil to the system, can I safely drive it a few miles to a shop to have it evacuated and re-charged?

Answer
HI George

On the MDX your drier is located as part of your condenser.  It can be replaced by removing the lid located on the bottom of the tube that holds the filter drier (its a small bag).  The expansion valve is located at the evaporator.  You must remove the glove compartment and remove the case to replace the exp valve.  Good luck and let me know.
