Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair/Heat only comes out of defrost

Question
My heat only comes out of my defrost. It comes out a little bit when I put it on the heat and I can tell there is warm air when I put it on vent.  Is it my actuator?  I started taking it apart and when I unplugged the hose that goes on 3 plastic tubes on top of the contol box one of the holes is plugged it looks like and the plastic fitting that goes over it has a hole in it. Is it suppose to be like that or is that my problem.

Answer
HI Randy

Not sure the hose you are talking about.  If it is the one on the control head itself it is small hoses that bring vacuum to that part of the control head.  Let me know what type of vehicle we are talking about and tell me if it works fine on the a/c modes.  Let me know and I'll try and help.
