QUESTION: how would i do that? is there a procedure that i can do it myself or is this something that the mechanic shop can do?

Answer
If you are mechanically inclined then you can do it.  You must remove the refrigerant and remove the compressor from vehicle.  Once you have it out then remove the 13mm nut and remove clutch plate.  You need to add then spacer washers and get the correct gap.  If not sure take it to a mechanic.  If you want to speak to me you may call 305-468-8387.
