Question
Thank you in advance Candido for your time and knowledge on this question. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge with 3 liter v6. The ac compressor will not come on until you have driven at least 45 or so minutes. It will come on and work perfectly, blows real cold air. If you stop and turn off the engine for a short while, you have to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes for it to come back on. It takes the clutch several tries before it will start the compressor when you first turn it on. No strange noises or smells. Any ideas? Thank you, Walter

Answer
First to check if coil.  See if you have current from the beginning.  If you do not have current then go to your cycling switch and see if you have positive going in and coming out.  If you see it going on and off then replace the switch.  IF power is permanent and you do not have current at the clutch then replace your relay.
