Question
1998 Dodge Caravan, fan not blowing out air on a/c or heat.  A few months ago it stopped working but started up again, and then started going off and on quite frequently.  Now it does not blow air out at all.  I can feel warm air coming out, even when fan switch is in off position.  Husband can not find a fuse...what could the problem be?  Help PLEASE and THANK YOU!

Answer
There are 3 possibilities:

1. The blower motor has an internal failure.
If you have a $5.00 automotive test light of which you can buy anywhere, Attach the alligator clip to a metal portion of the vehicle. Using the TIP of the test light and with the blower motor switch set so as the blower motor should be running,, Probe the wire that connects to the blower motor and the test light should illiminate. DOES IT ?.

Use this method on all of the blower fan settings.

On the LOW setting the light will illiminate slightly.

On the next higher speed setting the light will be alittle brighter and so on all the way up to the high speed setting. DOES IT ?.

If it does, Replace the blower motor.

If it does NOT, Let me know.
