Question
I have a 1996 Ford Taurus. When I use the air conditioner a sweet/syrup smell blows out of the vents.  I have been told that the heater core needs to be replaced.  Were would I be able to find the heater core to replace it? Also, is this dangerous for my children and I to breath in?

Answer
Yes this smell can be a health hazard. replacing the heater core is not as simple as it appears. One a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being EASY and 10 be HARD, I would rate this repair at a 7.

Have it done by a professional facility and do it SOON.
