Question
I replaced the ignition cylinder on my 1996 Buick Pk Avenue and now the airbag light will not go off. Can you please give me a suggestion?

Thanks

Answer
Hi John:

Sorry about your problem.  I'm guessing you removed the airbag, steering wheel, clockspring, locking plate, horn cam, and pulled away the turn signal switch to accomplish this repair.  when you assembled it, did the clockspring get rotated in any way?  did the wires that run under the lock plate (for the clockspring) get pinched?  Did you connect the airbag and re-insert the safety clip?

If all of those thing are accounted for, then I don't know what else it could be.  You will need a scan tool to locate you the problem, but most likely all you will learn is ' an open circuit in the driver's airbag circuit'.  that means one of those things above caused the wire to either get cut, or not connected.

That's all it can be

Good luck
I hope this helped you
Doug
