Auto Glass/02' Sunfire Driver window binding

Question
02' Pontiac Sunfire/Chevy Cavalier Driver side front door windo comes down about halfway then binds, if you pull down while operating the switch, it will lower fully.  I changeed the window motor with an OEM, due to the old one being burndt out.  Do you feel this could be a regulator issue?  I have sprayed silicon lube in the channels already, and a new regulator will run $160.  It's my daughters girlfrirends car and I'm trying to help her without making her wash the dishes for a year.  Thanks, Mike in Florida

Answer
Hi Mike,

Let me ask you a few questions before I suggest what might be the problem.

1.  When the glass is all the way up are all the edges properly inside all the run channels?

2.  Does the glass bind in the same place when you raise it as it does when you lower it?

3.  How did you remove the regulator when you replaced the motor?

4.  What did you use to fasten the motor to the regulator?

5.  How did you re-install the regulator after you replaced the motor?

6.  Is this vehicle a two door or a four door?
