Auto Glass/Fluid from heated mirror passenger side

Question
My heated mirror got broken on the passenger side of my 2006 Yukon and I cannot get the liquid off the side of the vehicle.  I have tried WD40, which removes just about anything, but it didn't help. The Yukon is dark blue. What can I use to not damage the paint and remove the liquid completely? I also tried paint thinner, which did nothing either.  I would sure appreciate some help because it doesn't look very good.

Answer
Hi Jim,

To tell you the truth I do not know what the liquid is that is in the heated mirrors but if you have tried the heavy stuff I would say to try some foaming glass cleaner and let it sit for while it might soak in enough to get it out.

Sounds crazy right?, Foam glass cleaner  vs  WD40?   But if you have ever tried to remove a coffee stain with WD40, you know it does not work like Foaming Glass cleaner!!!! LOL :)

If not, you will have to 3M micro compound it out!

HOPE THIS HELPS! Derek  :)
