i have 2000 gmc seria 1500 4x4 .the winow fell down,i have it torn apart and apears to be two cables that are both broke and wond around motor.not quite sure how they route,and i will need to buy 2 new cables if they sell them.i do have motor out,thanks alot Jim,past all expert helper

Hi Jim,

The mechanism that moves your window up and down is called a cable style window regulator.

Your broken regulator is not repairable.  It must be replaced.  You have two options:

1.  You can purchase a regulator only from GM and install your existing motor on the regulator.

2.  You can purchase an "aftermarket" regulator and motor assembly from your local parts store.  

I think the aftermarket regulator and motor assembly made by "Dorman" is a good product and will probably come with a lifetime warranty.  Your local parts store will have all the details.
